About project “Craft lives!”
Chance for firms
What will the project “Craft lives!” bring to Prague’s entrepreneurs?
The Prague Chamber of Commerce cooperates with the Prague’s City Hall on project “Craft lives!” whose main aim is to stop long-term decrease of number of apprentices in training colleges and ensure enough educated tradesmen for Prague’s enterprises. The Prague Chamber of Commerce has known for many years this problem and now can offer you another service from which you – members – can prosper.
In current time the Prague Chamber of Commerce finds demand of Prague’s firms for craft professions and their interest to cooperate on education of apprentices. The porpuse of this cooperation will be close participation of firms and apprenticeship schools and also parents.
This communication of all these parts can ensure that firms obtain a new worker exactly along their needs. Parents will be sure that their child will start in a known environs after school and apprenticeship school will obtain a feedback from firms, proposals for eventual changes of school curriculums or also possibilities to supply an internship to their apprentices. This internship will be a preparation for their future occupation. It would be a great achievment for Prague to create almost “Bata’s system” of education with a consecutive use of absolvents in occupation.
The Prague Chamber of Commerce offers you a possibility to profit from this new cooperation so that your entrepreneurship is not slow down by a lack of qulified workers. For this reason we are ready to present you this activity anytime, to research needs of your company and to cooperate with your HR officers.
We also allow to ask you about a cooperation in case we appeal your company with an inquiry or a similar research to get a very clear imagination about the state of employed and in the future needed qualified worker’s professions in Prague’s firms.
Apprenticeship schools appreciate a possibility to open new branches exactly according to firm’s demand. Thanks to cooperation with enterprises these schools obtain a possibility to offer an access to new technologies for their apprentices which allows them to use their theoretical knowledge in practice.
Thanks to a campaign at basic schools, which informs students and their parents about these problems, we can finally hear about advantages of a qualification in craft branches (e.g.: financial view or certainty of employment). We can see now that a lot of parents were or are misinformed about apprenticeship schools. They appreciate a new view of this kind of education and they are particulary interested in a possibility to get to know a place where their child could be employed. That is the reason why we will organise “Open doors days” in Prague’s firms to offer as much information as possible for parents or children themself. These information should be ideally connected with seeing the real state “with their own eyes”. If you are interested in organising these visitations in your firm please do not hesitate and let us know.
The Prague Chamber of Commerce is convinced that these services are a great challenge for the future. With a pleasure we offer you a long-term solution of your HR demads for qualified worker’s professions.
