The Prague Economic Chamber: Mission Statement

The Prague Economic Chamber's program statement summarizes its mission: to highlight the necessity of close cooperation between the Chamber itself and organs of state administration and local governments.

The Prague Economic Chamber, first and foremost:

• Facilitates cooperation with the municipality of the capital city Prague, aimed at the development and support of members of the Economic Chamber;
• Seeks the realization and development of state administration and local government initiatives;
• Supports initiatives with the Czech Economic Chamber and Regional Economic Chambers throughout the Czech Republic, including cooperation with foreign business partners.

Such a range of activities enables members to present themselves and their businesses outside of the Czech Republic; morever, it facilitates the transmission of information about foreign offers and requests with the goal of fostering international business cooperation and the creation of a favourable atmosphere for the Czech Republic's entrance into the European community.

Chamber Activities for the Support of Business

By promoting the interests of the business community and the state, the Prague Economic Chamber makes a noteable contribution to the development of Czech business.

The Scope of International Contact

The Prague Economic Chamber presents Prague business and businesspeople not only inside but also outside of the borders of the Czech Republic. The Chamber develops mutual contacts with partner businesses and industrial chambers abroad and throughout the world. Further, the Chamber strengthens business cooperation with other chambers based in significant and important cities in other European states; the goal herein is to support international business and business co-operation and to create a favourable atmosphere for the Czech Republic's entrance into the European community.

The Chamber Provides:

• Information about foreign firms which show interest in cooperation with Czech firms
• Business information about Czech firms that are searching for foreign partners and partnerships
• Intermediary services and the organization of meetings, particularly alternative forms of negotiation between Czech and foreign businesses
• The dissemination of information about Czech firms' offers and requests worldwide via business and industrial chambers beyond the borders of the Czech Republic
• Representation for Czech firms by establishing contact between individual business chambers abroad
• Support for the negotiations of Czech entrepreneurs with the help of foreign chambers
  a)Provision of direct contact at top levels of management on the basis of cooperative contracts (Budapest and Athens)
  b)Support in the form of requests and recommendations of other business chambers with whom contractual relationships have not yet been formed
• Support for the organization of foreign trade missions for Czech entrepreneurs
• Organization of training and education, seminars and further information channels focused on foreign business activities
• Provision of information within the scope of various foreign assistance funds
• Information about various business and promotional events organized by Czech institutions abroad
• Services for Czech firms seeking foreign partners with the help of foreign chambers

By means of these and a host of other activities, the Prague Economic Chamber promotes its members to the business community outside of the Czech Republic, helping them to enter international markets and to succeed and profit.
